Don't pay too much for hosting.

3.  Website Development and Design
Work with someone you trust and like their work.

4.  Keep it Fresh!
Update the content on your website monthly. Add new photos, subjects and topics of interest. Perhaps what fits into the seasonal schedule. Schedule content for your site on an annual basis as to what will be added or featured each month or quarter. This makes the site useful, interesting and a valuable resource to the community.

Keep your clients up to date with your monthly, quarterly or annual promotions which are also advertised on your website. Manage your email list with a SPAM Free resource.   Give them creative ideas on a regular basis of how they can utilize your excellent goods or services.

6.  Join Local Associations / Community Minded
Be involved in your community. Be the first person to tell others about your new website. List the associations and community activities that you are involved with on your website. Participate in community events. Perhaps sponsor an event or host a mini workshop at your place of business. Providing general education about your products and services. Be sure to have brochures and business cards with your website address listed for everyone to take home.

7. Business Cards / Brochures
Be sure to put your new web address and email address on your new business cards, brochures and printed material! Have your web address also placed prominently on store fronts, delivery vehicles and print advertising. Someone may be driving to work on the freeway and see your web address on a vehicle...jot it down and visit your site once they have arrived at their destination. The internet doesn't rest. You should! It is a way to market your business interactively with potential clients 24 hours a day.

8. Network - Back Links
List other businesses on your website. This is particularly beneficial if their sites rank higher than yours in Alexa.com. Also, ask them to link to your site in exchange for you linking to theirs. Remember, quality links are much better than quality!

9.  Internet Security
Protecting your computer is a must. A good Internet Safety program can help do this.
